The son of wealthy parents, Christian Dior was born in 1905 in Granville, Normandy, France. Dior’s family had hopes he would become a diplomat, but Dior was artistic and wished to be involved in art. After leaving school in1928 Dior opened a small art gallery funded by his father. During the great depression the family faced financial ruin and the gallery had to be closed. In 1942 after serving in the army Dior joined the fashion house of Lucien Lelong where he was one of the primary designers. In 1946 Dior founded his fashion house backed by Marcel Boussac, a cotton-fabric magnate. Tragically at the age of 52 Dior died whilst on holiday in Italy.

Vintage style and a glamorous look characterise the Dior Eyewear collections. Dior sunglasses and optical frames seduce thanks to their sophisticated lines of vintage style and couture trimming. Inspired by the creative heritage of the brand, the Dior collections have generous sizes and geometric lines to give the typical authenticity, charm and elegance of the Maison.
